Effects of Temperature on V-I Characteristics

Temperature significantly affects the V-I characteristics of silicon diodes. In forward bias, the characteristics shift left by 2.5 mV per °C increase, reducing voltage. In reverse bias, saturation current doubles every 10°C rise. Breakdown voltage varies with temperature, and materials like silicon are preferred for lower reverse saturation currents.
