Stereotypes vs. Prejudice vs. Discrimination

Stereotypes are generalized beliefs about groups, while prejudice is a negative attitude stemming from those beliefs, leading to discrimination, which is negative behavior towards out-group members. Implicit biases often persist despite declining explicit prejudice. Cognitive biases, in-group favoritism, and scapegoating contribute to the development and maintenance of these social issues.
