Resumé

In 1812, explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt discovered the ancient city of Petra, home to the Nabataeans, a thriving trading civilization. Known for their impressive water management and trade routes, the Nabataeans flourished until Roman expansion led to their decline. Eventually, Petra fell into ruin due to earthquakes and changing trade dynamics.
