I never understood why you can't go faster than light - until now!

Objects cannot reach the speed of light due to time dilation, which causes acceleration to slow down as speeds increase. As an object approaches light speed, it requires infinite energy to continue accelerating, making it impossible to reach that speed. This phenomenon is rooted in the constancy of the speed of light across all reference frames.
